Our legacy

Parenting is one of life’s greatest assignments.

But very few of us were actually taught how to do it.

We are taught how to build careers, manage businesses, develop skills and pursue success. Then one day, we become responsible for raising another human being, and much of the time we are expected to simply know what to do.

So we parent from what we experienced. From what we saw growing up. From instinct. From culture. From fear. From love. And sometimes, from trial and error.

But our children are growing up in a world very different from the one we knew.

The question is no longer simply

“How do I get my child to behave?”

The bigger question is

“Who am I raising this child to become?”

That is the conversation behind RAISE.

Introducing RAISE

RAISE with Tinu Asegieme is a practical parenting masterclass created for parents who want to become more thoughtful, informed and intentional about how they raise their children.

This is not a space for perfect parents. It is a space for honest conversations, practical tools, difficult questions, shared learning and wisdom that can be applied in real family life.

Over eight live virtual classes, Tinu will be joined by selected resource persons to explore some of the most important issues parents face today, from communication and discipline to emotional wellbeing, faith, money, career choices, technology and preparing children for independence.

We are raising adults.

What we will explore

01

The Intentional Parent

Before we understand our children, we must also understand ourselves. This class explores parenting styles, expectations, inherited parenting patterns and how our own upbringing can influence the way we respond to our children.

Key conversations

Parenting from intention rather than reaction • Understanding your parenting style • Breaking unhealthy cycles • Expectations versus reality • Becoming the parent your child needs

02

Know the Child You Are Raising

Every child is different, even children raised in the same home. We will explore temperament, personality, development, strengths and individuality, and why effective parenting requires us to understand the particular child in front of us.

Key conversations

Temperament • Developmental stages • Personality • Strengths and weaknesses • Different approaches for different children • Avoiding unhealthy comparisons

03

Connection Before Correction

Children need boundaries, but they also need to know that home is a place where they can be heard. This class explores communication, emotional safety and how parents can maintain healthy connection even when correction is necessary.

Key conversations

Listening • Difficult conversations • Building trust • Creating emotional safety • Staying connected through adolescence • Correcting without destroying relationship

04

Discipline, Boundaries & Responsibility

Discipline is not simply punishment. Healthy discipline teaches children self-control, responsibility, accountability and consequences. We will explore how to establish boundaries without parenting through fear, shame or inconsistency.

Key conversations

Healthy authority • Consequences • Consistency • Chores and responsibility • Accountability • Respect • Boundaries • Knowing when to hold firm and when to adjust

05

Raising the Whole Child

Academic success alone is not enough. Our children also need emotional intelligence, resilience, confidence, healthy identity, character and values. This class explores how parents can nurture children who are grounded internally, not merely successful externally.

Key conversations

Confidence • Emotional intelligence • Resilience • Identity • Faith • Values • Character • Peer pressure • Self-worth

06

Money, Responsibility & Financial Wisdom

How do we teach children to understand money before the world teaches them what money means? This session will examine the parent’s role in developing healthy attitudes towards earning, spending, saving, giving and wealth.

Key conversations

Allowances • Saving • Spending • Giving • Delayed gratification • Entitlement • Financial responsibility • Privilege • Introducing children to investing and wealth principles appropriately

Questions we will tackle

  • Should children be paid for chores?
  • When should a child start receiving an allowance?
  • Should children know how much their parents earn?
  • How do you raise children with access without raising entitled children?
07

Career, Calling & the Future

One of the most significant transitions in parenting comes when our children begin making decisions about their own future. What happens when the career your child wants is not the career you imagined? How do parents distinguish between guiding, influencing and controlling?

Key conversations

Subject and course choices • Career exploration • Strengths and interests • Parental expectations • Calling and purpose • Entrepreneurship • Changing career landscapes • Preparing children for the future of work

08

Preparing Them for the World

Ultimately, our job is not to keep our children dependent on us forever. It is to prepare them to eventually make sound decisions without us standing beside them. Our final class brings the parenting journey together.

Key conversations

Technology • Social media • Relationships • Independence • Decision-making • Life skills • Leaving home • Responsibility • Transitioning from control to counsel • Raising adults who can thrive

RAISE is for you if…

  • You want a stronger relationship with your child.
  • You sometimes wonder whether you are being too strict, or too lenient.
  • You want to discipline effectively without damaging connection.
  • You are raising children in a world of social media, technology and rapidly changing cultural influences.
  • You want your children to understand money and responsibility.
  • You are navigating school, university, career or future-life decisions with your child.
  • You want to raise children who are emotionally healthy, spiritually grounded and confident in who they are.
  • You are raising teenagers or young adults and discovering that your role as a parent is changing.

Or perhaps you simply want to become a more intentional parent.

You do not have to be experiencing a parenting crisis to attend RAISE. Sometimes, the best time to learn is before there is a crisis.

The work of raising children is too important to leave entirely to chance.
